Bed nook revised

december-2009-171-blogIn July I posted photos here of my bed nook.  I was in full nesting mode and was a wee bit hasty on getting it finished.  All said and done it just wasn’t quite right.  Here it is revised.  I sweet-talked Levi into trimming the entrance with barnboad, re-re-painted the bed, hung a bunch of photos & added linen shades to the chandelier.

bednook-1 I put the ancient sheet music from Kasey in frames along with old family photos.

december-2009-175-blog1I had one of our photos from Blackwater, MO printed and Levi framed it with barnboard for me.  You can read about the slipcovered lampshades here. My sweet husband also put dimmer switches on the lamp & chandelier.  Lighting is key in creating the right ambiance.  In my very humble-non-professional opinion.

The mirrored tray & rusted metal frame is from Faded Praire on Etsy. Love her stuff!

  17. Agghhhhh! Another cute house post! I was just looking at Lola B’s cute little white and grey one. and now your bed nook, which is TDF. How do you have a gorgeous house and little ones–lots of them??? I only have a 2 yr old and a 5 yr old, but they are CRAFTY. Mia loves to squish her waffles in interesting places and color on the white pedestal kitchen table with sharpie. Now that she has figured out how to push a chair to the counter, everything is in reach. I feel like I’ve totally given up that I will ever have a cute house again. How do you do your house and your business? I can’t seem to keep up with both…

  18. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. It is beautiful! I love everything about it!

  20. Just divine! I have a question, since I have a similar area in my bedroom and for years have wanted to add curtain panels as you did… but HOW did you suspend the curtain rod all the way across the opening to the nook without any hardware showing? I’m assuming the width you have is too wide for that to be a tension rod… Thanks for any help you can lend. 🙂
