Wyatt's tooth

An exciting & somewhat traumatic moment for this little boy.  After hanging by a thread for days his tooth is finally out.  Another reminder that my little fellow is growing up.  They change so much once they get their big teeth.

I can clearly remember losing my first teeth.  Uncles, aunts & cousins begging to let them take it out for you, offering all sorts of prizes.  The feeling of celebrity as all of the other siblings crowd around in envious awe and parents heartily congratulate you once it is out.  The anticipation of the big chompers to come.  I remember being so proud of my huge new, jagged,  teeth when they came in.  It didn’t matter to me that were way out of proportion with my little face.  This fact is evident in my school pictures.  Maybe I had something wrong with me?

  12. CUTE! Nothing wrong with loving big jagged new teeth–maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to go back to thinking what we’ve got is cool…I remember thinking my auntie’s shiny silver braces were so pretty, I drew them on all the smiles of the models in my mom’s pattern books…
