Getting settled

I am optimistic that a year or two from now we will be all unpacked and settled in.  Good grief.

It doesn’t help that the bean is still slowing me down.  I am so much better, but still not 100%.  Maybe like 50%.  I am at that stage of good days and bad days.  On a good day I can go the whole day without zofran and only 20 or 30 baby carrots, on a bad day I am on 3 zofran and couch-ridden with a whole costco size bag of carrots.  Did I tell you about carrots?  They are miraculous and have replaced the need for spit cup.  I think I am turning orange.

We woke up to a dusting of snow.  The bare trees are coated with white powder, making them appear delicate and lacy.   I look to the north and there grazes the noble steed.  Mama sighs contentedly.

We are still finishing up a few things in the home.  The stairway is being finished and the last of the barn board and trim is being put up.  And paint.  Where does it all end Margaret?

Levi is stuck trying to figure out how to get my odd collection of 100+ year old stair parts to work.   “Pray for me” he says.  Our home is very rustic.  The trick to surviving 9 kids is having everything the same color as dirt.  No matter how much I want white slipcovers. So I am hoping I can find approriate vintage florals and such to soften the place up.  When we can see the floor again and when we get around to wiping the dust off of everything I will post full room photos and hope that you will help me out a bit.

  1. I am absolutely loving these peeks at the new house! It looks absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it when it is all finished. I want white slipcovers badly too but think that I would regret it big time. So glad to hear that you are well, even if slowed down a bit;)
