Knocked Flat

Despite my good intentions I am down.   My life consists of days on the couch and evenings in bed amidst empty Zofran wrappers, spit cups & other sick people paraphernalia.  I am merely a womb.  I sit here and do nothing but grow this baby.

As I sit in bed watching the fog glide through Windy Ridge changing the opacity of my view I realize that I am lucky.  If I take 3 Zofran a day, eat every 15 minutes and lay partially upright turning neither left nor right I can keep from vomiting until the evening.  I know some of you are not so lucky, like Elisa.

Fellow HG sufferers, what is it about laying on our side that makes us vomit?  After I somehow fall asleep using my furious foot wagging and moaning techniques, my HG falls asleep too.  There is a magical time in the middle of the night that I can actually lay on my right  side.  How glorious.

To top it all off, my baby Violet is sick.  This too shall pass…

PS-We did get our flooring but won’t be moving in until the floor is installed and finished.  Levi & brother Ben are working on that.  It is going to be absolutely beautiful.

  8. Reading this brings me right back to the first couple of months of my pregnancies (I’m hoping yours doesn’t last much longer than that!)…during that time I always said that i would way rather have horrible labor pain that lasted for a couple of days instead of the horrible vomiting that goes on for weeks…that constant gagging and vomiting is the worst…especially when you have other kiddos to tend to. None of these comments on here will ease your discomfort, but at least you will know that you are not alone!!! Like it’s been said before…this too shall pass…God has an incredible little miracle growing inside of you!!!

  15. Oh, you poor thing! I’m so sorry that you are doing so badly. I remember being so completely miserable with Layla so I can imagine what you’re going through. I wish I lived closer and could come be of some help. I’m thinking of you and praying for some relief for you, little Violet too. ((Hugs))

  16. I’m sorry you’re so miserable 🙁 I was wondering how you’ve been doing when I didn’t see new posts lately-glad you can get a little rest.

  17. It certainly helps us value and appreciate our children since we don’t make them just like that. That must be one reason why we take such tender care of them. They are of such great value and so are you. 🙂 I pray that you will feel better quickly. Things will get better!

  18. awww Jen..I hope the symptoms getting better for you soon. I have seven little peepers myself and when mama’s sick, it makes for a rough day or several rough months from the sound of it 🙁 Hang in there!

  25. and you still look gorgeous!

  26. I feel for you. I am feeling the same on number 4 and only have two months to go. That is how I got addicted to you blog. All I could do is sit and let the kids play around me. I thought I wish I could be you. You must never get sick etc. with 8 kids it must come so easy for you.

I even respect you more knowing you have done this 9 times and get sick.

My question to our bodies is shouldn’t it get easier on us baking babies not harder.

I am always amazed that I seem to forget all of this and get soooo excited to do it again. Good thing I am going on 39. This should be all for this family.

  27. OH Jen, I feel for you! I remember all too well, rolling back and forth in bed, changing positions, moaning, begging and pleading to just fall asleep so I wouldn’t feel sick anymore. (That or have someone knock me on the head to unconsciousness..haha) I hope you feel better soon!!!..and little Violet also. It’s no fun to see our kids sick, especially when we feel like poo ourselves 🙂 You are right though, this too shall pass. Hang in there.

  28. poor thing..so sorry you are feeling so awful..you look beautiful even when you don’t feel well…
