Yellow

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Please take a moment to read about it here.

Depression and suicide has affected my close family and friends and this cause is very personal to me. I know how dark and despairing depression can be. I have seen this disease ravage and kill. Devestating, partly because it is so misunderstood. By the sufferer and observer.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

  1. How I can relate to this post today and oddly, this morning I heard this scripture about the brokenhearted too, but coming from Luke 4:18-20.

Blessings to you, Jen, for your faith and your caring and tender heart toward this matter. I know how you’ve been effected by it (at least in one instance).

The Lord cause all of His people to be sensitive to those who suffer at the hands of oppression which brings depression. amen.

  2. To understand isn’t really possible because know one truly knows what goes on inside the mind. What we can do is be there, talk to them, encourage them, and in my case, nag the hell out of them to keep them talking. My friends pulled me through PPD. It’s a place I never, ever want to go back to because its awful and ugly and dark and it feels like you’re all alone and hopeless. But I know God as given me my trials so that I can be there for someone else.

Your heart is big and your love is deep. Blessings.
