30 years ago today, I was almost 8 years old and witnessing the awesome eruption of Mt. St. Helens. I remember earthquakes, watching from a viewpoint, ash raining down, gray landscape and masks. Terribly exciting.
St. Helens…
She is a magnificent & familiar presence that has been standing next to me all my life. She preaches a more powerful sermon than any man. A daily reminder of our mighty God and all that HE can do. I gaze upon her and I believe with all my heart & soul.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Romans 14:11

Jen, you are just something. (Something GOOD!) 🙂
I love how you weave scripture into otherwise “everyday” things. This is how it should be!
Thanks for the beautiful picture and the beautiful words. 🙂

Jen: I love how your faith in Christ is a part of everything that you do. You shine bright! Thanks for the inspiration.
I agree! What more can we do than fall on our faces before such a God as ours?
And I wasn’t even born yet! Neat post!
Awsome! My teacher was 10 and she was outside planting a tree with her dad. She said it looked like a storm but it suddenly started raining ash. Everyone in my class counted down to the second and we wached a movie about it.
Jen, what a wonderful picture and reminder of the powerful blast, Hubby & I were very close that day, we were in Castle Rock & watched the entire thing unfold! The perfect scripture.
Wendy
Amen!
I remember there being ash falling in Utah, where we lived at the time.
It is amazing that you have that gorgeous view! It’s breathtaking!
Magnificent!!
i remember the eruption too i was almost 4. It was very impressive. i grew up with it in my back yard too. i love coming and looking at your beautiful clothes and the landscape looked very familiar….
Pretty… I was only 6 months old.. Tim was 3 and remembers pulling over on the side of the road watching it…
Breathtaking.
Jen – we lived in BC when Mt St Helens erupted. Seeing snow covered mountains year round was one of my very favorite things about living in the Northwest. Beautiful splendor, huge majesty does bring the reality of God very close.
30 years ago in San Jose, California a young man knocked on my door and I bought a small glass bottle of ash from the eruption of Mount St. Helen and placed the valuable item in my antique china cabinet next to my silver. As I look back I realized I was taken for one dollar for someones fireplace ashes. 🙂
