Making memories

august-2010-long-beach-020-webI love snapshots like these. For years to come this image will evoke wonderful memories. After being trapped in seatbelts  for over 2 hours the kids were ecstatic to be free.  During the exploration of the beach house rental Wyatt found a movie he loved and these 3 sat down together to inspect it.  Sweet sibling companionship combined with the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, unexpected sunshine, all 9 of my children with me…perfect moment. I am also reminded of my childhood when we used to stay at the beach with my cousins.  (remember Dick’s cabin, Jo? and the spiders?:)

Wyatt, enraptured expression & lunch on his face.  He got himself dressed, layering a tank over his tee.  His main objective in life is to give me as many sloppy kisses as possible and embarrass me to death with his public speaking. We met the landlady on our walk to the ocean and he excitedly tells her that he found his favorite movie in the house.  She tells him that was also her son’s favorite when he was little.  Wyatt twists his face up into a ghastly expression and dramatically exclaims that HIS mom took his and BURNT it.  Making me look like a madwoman who burns unwanted movies at the stake.  I actually threw it in the trash because it was too scary for him and he couldn’t sleep after watching it.  When Levi brought him fishing at the docks the next day he answered “two” to every question a stranger would ask.  How many fish did you catch. “TWO”. Think you will catch more? “TWO”.  On and on and on.
