John & Deanne

Deanne’s homemade rustic bread that she made for the wedding. So delicious with the flavored butters she whipped up.

I have to dedicate a post to these amazing people that you may recognize from here.  They volunteered to cook and coordinate the food for the wedding as they do for many weddings. What a tremendous blessing because I realize now that there is no way we could have pulled it off without their help. Deanne, mother of 14, baked all of the bread.  Her and John did all the shopping in addition to supplying and delivering their own tables, tablecloths, chair covers (that John sewed!), serving bowls and much more. The day of the wedding they stormed in and did all the cooking, setup and serving.  Her kids piled around the table and happily pitched in. AND they helped with clean up, the last ones to leave late at night.

All the kids chopping and sawing.

John & Deanne’s beautiful daughter, Stephanie, laboring away in my kitchen.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you!  We are so grateful for everything that you did to help!

  1. How wonderful!!

  2. Yes, thank you! Everything was so good!

  3. Jen, my family LOVED the bread and the soup! I would love to have the bread recipe if Deanne will share. And the soup also! I also have to say I was super impressed with all of the terrific help you had all day! However, I should not sound surprized because I have known that the folks in your church seem to often take care of each other well! When Leo and I were caretakers at the church campground, the youth and counselors from your church were great to witness and very loving!

  4. Yes, THANK YOU!!! Deanne, you made the most amazing soup and bread. It was all a labor of love, I know, and a HUGE blessing to the families you served. Thank you for the extra you did for our gluten-free family members and for taking over getting the cake out for me….totally above and beyond! You and your family were amazing and it was a pleasure to get to work in the kitchen with you (though not on the food you and your family made). 🙂

  5. What a truly tremendous blessing. That is a lot of work. They clearly did it very well!
