Here Comes the Bride

Complete Chaos. I am running through the grass in my high heels trying to remember all the last minute details before the ceremony starts. Guests are being seated, children are running wild, the wedding party is scrambling to find their place. I panic because I realize I need to get up the stairs to capture the bride as she comes down the aisle. I run.  I find her waiting serenely at the top. Amidst all the confusion she stands quietly next to my antique newel post from New York. My jumbled mind clears and nothing else matters as I take in this beautiful moment.  I think how the hands that carved that antique newel post from New York would think it was pretty special that one day a beautiful young bride would find a moment of peace next to it.
