Heirloom Romper & Pinafore

New to eden’s bouquet! Heirloom Romper & Swiss Dot Pinafore.

I picked this pattern up while thrifting and have been dying to get the samples.  I chose a soft stretch knit for the romper, a simple and timeless style. The pinafore with little heart pockets is made with a heirloom sheer Swiss dot organdy and trimmed with vintage lace from my stash. I love how versatile this style is. I used a 3t set for photos and it fit both my size 3t and 5t daughters.

About the model:

Violet

She turned 5 in May and she is mine.

She is boy-crazy. Whenever a new boy comes over she starts shamelessly flirting and the victim is usually terrified because her style of flirting is a bit uncivilized and usually involves jumping on their backs and hissing sounds. The age of the boy matters not, 5 to 30, she loves them all.

She loves to draw and her masterpieces, with cats in high heels, happy sunshines and unicorns, are scattered around the house and on my office wall. She loves stuffed animals and moths.

When she is happy everything is “yes, mama”, “what a beautiful day” and “isn’t that lovely”. When she is mad I can’t repeat what is said. My mom says Violet reminds her of this poem:

There was a little girl,

Who had a little curl,

Right in the middle of her forehead.

When she was good,

She was very good indeed,

But when she was bad she was horrid.

She is an anxious little thing and likes me to be close by.  She likes everything to stay the same. When Sabra has a friend over, Violet can’t sleep because the friend smells different.  She likes birthdays, but doesn’t like getting older. The thought of being 6 stresses her out.

She is creative and full of imagination. She is a songwriter and can make up a beautiful new song on the spot. Sabra has one of Violet’s songs on her iPod, I will have to share it with you sometime.

She loves to model eden’s bouquet and is a joy to photograph.

  1. She is a beautiful soul!

  2. Aww, I love it! Violet was Everett’s first crush. I’m guessing, but the way you described her, they’d probably fight with each other to show their affection, and love every second of it. LOL I love the new design. And Violet — as well as all your kiddos — are a delight to photograph.

  3. Cute pic. Love that poem..lol

  4. This made me smile. My mom used to say that poem about me and I used to say that poem about Kylie! 🙂

  5. Ohhhhhh, can I go back and be six too? If I can skip the whole middle and high school thing. 🙂 I have a very dramatic five year old little boy. The world is ALWAYS ending.

She is seriously beautiful and I love the outfit…still no convincing the hubs that we need a #4. I’ll keep working on it!

  6. She sounds a lot like my Emma at that age! She never wanted to get older or to have things change. She’s 19 now, time goes too fast. I would love to spend a day with her at five again. Such precious times!

  7. What a joy it must be to be her Momma :O) xo

  8. a new favorite! this is beyond precious as is your beautiful Violet. I love reading about her personality..so sweet.

  9. Gosh, could it be any more adorable? I love love love it.
She sounds a little like my Lilly… that poem fits her to a t (and funnily enough, my Mum used to say that poem to me all the time about me..ha).
That photo is so joyous! Looks like she is shouting praises.

  10. Such a cutie! 🙂
