Death is not dying

I want to share a powerful sermon,  preached by a woman my age,  about 4 months before she died. Watch it here.

She says “I am dying, but so are you”.  A simple & profound truth.

  1. Hi Jen,

I almost fell over when I saw this post about sweet Rachel I almost fell over.
I have had that video of her talk given back last Spring saved online for — well, since last Spring — and have lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it while working here in the office.
Some days, I’d turn it on and go about my work here and just listen to the audio. Other days, I’d begin to do that, but end up just glued to my chair, staring into the computer watching it — not just listening to it. As though I wanted to forever embed everything about her, everything she had to say, in my mind so I wouldn’t forget her impact.

I joined the Facebook group Death Is Not Dying back last Spring (or so) and was able to leave comments for Rachel up until she finally went home to her Lord. It is so neat to know that perhaps one day I’ll actually meet her there — and be able to tell her face to face how her words have impacted my life on a daily basis.

I hope even one woman who watches her story is changed forever -eternally.

So glad you thought to post this — I’ll watch it yet again now…

    XOXO and Happy New Year!
    Ruth

I am going to try to find a way to creatively etch on our bare dining room wall: Serve Others with Joy!
