All of our guests are special, but it is extra special to get out of state visitors. Last week we had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful photographer, Gina, of Gina Maxine Photography who captured Hazel at 11 days old on a Windy Ridge tree stump. This week Levi’s brother Loren and his son Dillan are staying with us. They […]

Taking it easy with my baby girl. I have no choice really. In the last week I have had 3 different infections and superficial thrombosis, blood clots in the small veins rendering my right arm useless. Not dangerous like deep vein thrombosis, but painful. This was likely caused from a blood draw at the hospital. I […]
My 4th child is 12 today. 12 years ago I was 25 and we had just finished remodeling our 480 square foot house into a whopping 2000 square feet. I felt like a queen. I was rushing to get the house in order before he was born. The house was in order, no labor. 1 week overdue, […]
Outside the wind is howling and the rain is blowing sideways, but that is fine with me. Inside the fire is crackling. A 6 day old baby is a good excuse to stay in bed until late morning, spending the rest of the day sipping black coffee and listening to the kids play. A rare […]
After sifting through recent photos, I realized I do not have many “good” photos of Hazel, where you can actually see what she looks like. I took time today to capture her sweet face. At 3 days old, she is swimming in her new layette, but beautiful anyway.
The jalopy is now 3 seat belts shy of being legal so the big boys waited until we came home to meet baby Hazel. Here are a few of the photos I snapped as they introduced themselves to their day old sister. PS-Thank you to all that have followed along on this journey, offering understanding, insight […]
A surreal moment as I watched Levi hauling the carseat to the truck before the sun was even up. We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am as planned and by 12:45pm my epidural was in and my water was broke. Two hours later our 6lb 11oz Hazel Jean arrived, sunny side up with her little hand next […]
In 1902 my great grandparents, Walfrid & Lina, traveled by ship from Sweden to the USA and started all of this. We have spent the last 2 days visiting with long lost relatives and reminiscing about the good old days. I have always thought that my cousin Lisa resembled my mom and I love how […]
Dear Jon & Sue, I am finally getting to your photos again and hope to have them ready in time to send home with your girls. Thank you for being patient with me. Here are a few of my favorite candid shots. I try to capture the true moments & emotions of life and it […]
Sabra snapped the photos while I yelled at the Saint Bernard to “Get out of here & quit slobbering on me!”, as a result I look angry in most of the snapshots. I added as much texture, burning & actions as possible to hide my many imperfections. These may very well be the last photos of […]
