Wyatt has been impatiently counting the days until his 6th birthday. It is a relief for both us to have it done & over with, the poor kid was about to have a nervous breakdown. We brought him to town to celebrate. He could choose any restaurant he wanted and he chose Burger King. Have you tried the cupcake milkshakes at BK? Good stuff and perfect for a birthday boy.
Six years ago we went to Brother Ben’s 24th birthday party. I was due to have Wyatt in 3 days. That night I heard and felt my water break. Isn’t that funny? It actually woke me up. It felt like a balloon popped in my belly. It was the strangest sensation. I remember thinking it must have been a dream because I didn’t feel a big gush of water. Then I got up to go to the bathroom and flooded the room. Shortly thereafter I started labor, went to the hospital and Wyatt was born. Nice & easy.
Wyatt is still just as exuberant & candid as he was last year. He still likes to cuddle and he doesn’t mind telling you he likes girls. The other day he says “Mom, if I tell you a secret will you PROMISE not to tell anyone?”
I vowed to keep his secret until the end of time.
He whispered “I like a girl in my class”. Then he proceeded to whisper the same secret to all remaining family members. When his sister informed him that it is NOT a secret if you tell everyone…he cheerfully annouced to all of us: “tell anyone you want!”
I’m scared.
So So Very Cute! Wyatt sounds like the twin to my newly 6 year old Ana. Such fun conversations that keep you smiling even when your energy doesn’t match theirs.
Love it!
What a funny boy! And happy birthday to him!

First of all I LOOOOVVVEE the name Wyatt Austin. I love it that he wanted burger king.
What a fun birthday post to your boy.
That sounds like my James – the water breaking and the girl gazing!! He turned 6 in Sept. I heard and felt the same thing with him – I asked my husband if he heard that and then, of course, I was soaked.
Happy Birthday, young man!!! I will keep your secret…maybe. Might it be alright if I whisper it to my daughters?
that is so funny!
