The waning days of summer

I find it hard to believe that we are already in the middle of August.  We have savored and squeezed every drop out of this fleeting season so far(perhaps the triple digits were a bit much for my pregnant body).   Daytrips to the river & ocean.  County fairs & small town parades. Evening walks in the balmy air,  stopping to pick wild berries & hazelnuts.  Watching the children’s silhouettes dance along the treeline as they skip through the fields at dusk, their merry voices will always be the song of summer to me.  Though I intend to enjoy these last few weeks I find myself looking forward to Autumn, crisp mountain air, apple pie & turning leaves.

I have exciting things planned for the upcoming eden’s bouquet collections, I can’t wait to share them with you.

  5. I am amazed that an i-phone takes such great photos.
The Fall season is my absolute favorite of them all. Changing leaves ( already happening here in South Carolina), the smells of spices and crisp, windy days blowing falling leaves around. Pumpkins! I can’t wait to see pumpkins, everywhere! 🙂

  7. I just got my computer back last night and now I’m playin’ catchup with all my favorite blogs! I’ve missed reading all your posts. School starts next week here, we’ll be trying to make the most of our last week.

  8. sheesh girl.
then maybe i should move to washington because my days just don’t sound quite as nice as yours.

  9. You have such a gift to inspire me and to remind me of how magical each day is. I can’t wait to make big batches of chilli and soups and hot apple pies!

  10. What a lovely post Jen! Beautifully put. It just goes to increase my guilt though. Our summers usually sound very similar to the one you paint but not this one. I feel like I worked far more than I played with my kids and spent way too much of the summer hours indoors. Starting a business is so freaking hard! I have plans to remedy that though. Once I get my blog back up and running smoothly I will share. Autumn is my absolute fave. Knowing that I have that ahead of me helps to ease the guilt. Can’t wait to see what you have planned. It is sure to be wonderful:)
