A surreal moment as I watched Levi hauling the carseat to the truck before the sun was even up. We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am as planned and by 12:45pm my epidural was in and my water was broke. Two hours later our 6lb 11oz Hazel Jean arrived, sunny side up with her little hand next to her face. She had also managed to tie the cord into a true knot sometime during her stay in the womb.
Little miss Saige Emerald came to visit us in the hospital. They are exactly 2 weeks apart.
A nap-deprived and milkshake-glazed Violet meeting her little sister for the first time.

So very sweet… love the big grins on all the faces as they look in wonder at Hazel. Violet is priceless with those beautiful eyes almost taking in the passing of the title “baby of the family”.

How beautiful!! And you have a much better doctor than me!! My (now three month old) baby was sunny side up and had her hand next to her face too!! But they cut her out of me. I was not happy about that. I’m glad your delivery went smoothly! Thank heaven for epidurals!

How precious! Congratulations! When my son was born he had 2 true knots in his umbilical cord.
My sweet boy came sunny side up too with the cord around his neck. We were blessed that it only tightened down when he came out. After a stalled labor, some pitocin and a “you’ll have your baby by the evening,” my boy was born 45 minutes later with no epidural. He’s my miracle! And no, we didn’t know either of those facts when we went to the hospital!
