We spent part of Thanksgiving break making Mason jar snow globes. A super easy project that the kids loved. They might not be the most professional looking things, but the kids are pretty proud of their handiwork.
What you need:
Canning jars(I would have preferred vintage or antique, but new was easier to find last minute)
White glitter (we used gold and silver, too)
Ornaments or some other waterproof pretties to put inside
Waterproof quick drying glue
glycerin(we didn’t use any, but might have been a good idea to keep the glitter from clumping)
Caulking
Glue ornaments to lid. Fill jar up with water, glycerin and desired amount of glitter, leaving a little room for shaking*. Put lid on and add a bead of caulking around lid, wiping off excess. Turn it upside down and shake to your heart’s content.
*we tested, refilled, adjusted glitter before securing lids
