We got Jack about a year ago to keep Emily company in the fields. There is kind of a funny story behind Jack’s delivery. I had found him on Craigslist and being small town I wasn’t terribly surprised that we knew who the sellers were. We set up a delivery time. The delivery time came and went and I said “hmm, wonder if he got the wrong people?”. Sure enough, it turns out that he tried to deliver to a cousin’s house. The kids were home alone and quite surprised to see someone unloading a donkey in their yard. Imagine cousin’s confusion and surprise when his kids call up and tell him that someone is dropping a donkey off. Quite comical. Luckily, Levi reached them in time and gave them directions.
Jack is completely smitten with Emily. We keep them in the fence now because they decided to leave their poop piles in the front yard. Jack finds sticks and branches on the ground and tries to give them to Emily all day long. She thinks he’s crazy. We let them out the other day and Jack was delighted with all the gifts he found around the house for his girl. He tried to give her flip-flops, sippy cups, ropes, toys and anything else that he found unusual. We are really hoping that all these gifts will lead to a new baby donkey next summer. Wouldn’t that be darling?

I love that he brings her little gifts. He knows how to treat a lady!
There is a farm near our home with tons of donkeys!! There is a white fluffy baby one that I admire every time I pass by. You are so lucky to be able to have such great pets for your kids!!!
4roR0C Strange but true. Your resource is expensive. At least it could be sold for good money on its auction!….
