All of my kids, except Riley, walked at around 10 or 11 months, which I consider average. Riley was walking at the end of 8 months and I figured that he walked earlier because I was already 5 months pregnant with Destiny. Hazel took her first steps on May 12th at 8 months & 12 days. We said, “wow, she will be walking within a month!”. Two days later she was a full time walker. I am dismayed. Proud, but dismayed. I had plans to milk her babyhood out for all it was worth. I wanted to hold her, cuddle her, tote her around on my left hip. She doesn’t have time for that. 
She toddles around at full speed, narrowly missing sharp corners and barely clearing tabletops. I sit around and wince. She usually has both hands full of toys. God gave her 2 hands and she is going to use them. I will often find her screeching over a pile of toys that she can’t fit in her arms. She follows the kids everywhere. She thinks she’s a big girl and she wants to play so she jumps right into the pile and plays. Whether they like it or not.

I hear ya, Mikayla was born to old for her britches! I was planning on just soaking up her baby days but she was one of the “big kids” right off. I love the pictures of Hazel in her “Hazel colored” clothes!
Wow – I can’t imagine such a little thing walking already! My 16 month old little boy just started walking! FINALLY!! He was in absolutely no hurry. Although, I really didn’t mind. Such cuteness!
wow! I cannot believe she’s walking! She’s younger than my baby…and she’s not anywhere close to walking! I’m happy to tote her around on my hip for a bit longer! 😉
