Levi is 36 today. I didn’t plan a big party like he did for my last birthday. Just homemade cards & candy from the kids, a pot roast dinner and scotch-a-roo bars for dessert. I asked him if he wanted to party tonight and he wasn’t much interested, too old I guess. A cozy night in sounds good to me.
I have been unpacking boxes (yep, still unpacking) and I found these baby photos of us. I asked the kids who they thought the babies in the photos were and they all thought that Levi was one of their siblings, but had no idea who I was. I guess all my babies look like their daddy.
SCOTCH-A-ROO BARS (Levi’s favorite)
1 c. sugar
1 c. Karo (light)
1 c. peanut butter
5 c. Rice Krispies
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. Karo (light)
1 c. peanut butter
5 c. Rice Krispies
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Bring sugar and Karo to a slight boil and take off stove. Add and stir in peanut butter and Rice Krispies. Pat into buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. Melt butterscotch and chocolate chips in double boiler and spread over Rice Krispies mix. Let set for 1/2 hour, or until topping is set, in the refrigerator.
