Today marks Destiny’s 14th year. She was born a month after I turned 23. My first daughter & third baby, she was born when my oldest was 2 years old. She emerged, squalling, after 30 something hours of labor. I was so shocked (& so happy) that she was a girl. I was so sure that she would be a boy that I hadn’t even brought girl clothes to the hospital. (that’s what happens when you have 8 brother and are short on sisters:).
Today Destiny spent the day in town with me and my mom. We brought her to lunch and she picked out a gourmet chocolate mousse instead of a birthday cake.
Oh, Jen. She is lovely. You’re such a sweet mommy. A very happy birthday to the both of you.
