I came across Hazel’s birth video yesterday and now I am really excited (and a little anxious) about having this baby in 3.5 weeks. For the first time I heard the doctor and nurse discuss in hushed tones about how tight the knot was in her cord. I missed that in all the excitement of childbirth. I am so glad I was induced a week early. Of course now I worry every time Jessie Pearl flips around, but tell myself what are the chances? Pretty rare to manage a true knot.

My firstborn had a true knot in his cord! He was breech the whole time and I had to have a version to flip him. I always thought that was probably when it happened. Everyone had to come and see it after he was born. Yes, don’t mind me here, getting stitched up, how many people have to come in to see it anyway?

Jen W..Hazel went breech a couple of weeks before birth so that’s probably when it happened. They say the more kids you have the more room they have to flip around–true for me. My last few flip around until the very end. Scary:)
