All aglow

Mt. St. Helens on this winter solstice morning.  Levi woke me up, warning me that I was missing a beautiful photo.  I stumbled downstairs with 2 groggy little girls hanging off me and grabbed my camera.  The sunrise only lit up the mountain for a moment as I fumbled with the manual focus (auto is broken, help!) and my sleepy eyes.  What a way to welcome the shortest day of the year.

  1. Absolutely beautiful! 🙂 Hope you get your auto focus fixed soon, that would drive me nuts. 🙂 I’ve had really good luck with Knight Camera in Vancouver for my Nikon.

    Merry Christmas!

  12. Your photo is amazing! I have lived in the PNW all my life and never, ever, have I experienced Mt St. Helen like this! Pure beauty!

I don’t know how you could ever move away from such a place with views like you share, but then again the ocean is always spectacular.

Lovely post. I love your blog.

  13. P.S.
On your blog you have featured several local photographers who take amazing casual family photos. Would you mind recommending one or two in the Portland to Longview area that I could contact about taking some family photos sometime mid-January?

I love the style of your photography and appreciate your good tastes, so anyone you like, I will too!

  17. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

  24. Good day! I simply wish to give an enormous thumbs up for the good data you’ve here on this post. I will probably be coming back to your blog for extra soon.

  25. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a awesome job with this. In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera. Excellent Blog!

  26. Absolutely pent subject matter, appreciate it for selective information .
