That time of year already. The boat has been scrubbed cleaned and now dons a fresh coat of antifouling bottom paint (and so does Levi’s head). Saturday morning we pulled the boat to Ilwaco. As soon as we got on the Astoria bridge, Levi’s eyes lit up and he began jubilantly praising God for creating the oceans.

We stayed at the charming Inn at Harbor Village, a historic church turned bed & breakfast, overlooking the port of Ilwaco. Janis, the innkeeper, was so warm and welcoming and the rates are very reasonable. I would definitely stay again.
Levi jokingly asked the innkeeper if there was going to be church in the morning. One thing led to another, a guest agreed to speak and we were blessed with an impromptu Sunday service in the historic chapel. All 8 of us sat in the front pews while Fred preached about the 23rd Psalm and Hazel made more noise than she has ever made in her life.
After the service, we walked along the north jetty with Ben, Meg & Matilda. We stopped for pizza at an outdoor mobile pizza oven. While one gentleman ordered, the owner brags “this ain’t no Papa Murphy’s”, to which the customer replies with a laugh, “I am the co-founder of Papa Murphy’s”. What are the chances?
What a beautiful weekend you had . . beautiful memorie! The last pic is so sweet . . Levi and Hazel.
