Landon took these photos of Riley while I was not home. This is the reason boys end up in the ER more than girls. Thank goodness there were no major injuries in this event.

SO TRUE! One of my sons actually had to be in the hospital with a snake bite. The Dr. said boys always come in with broken bones and bites, girls come in with cat scratch fever. It makes life an exciting adventure!
I was just catching up on your blog (how did I miss so much in just a couple of days?!) and my son John Landon was looking over my shoulders exclaiming how COOL that looks. This is the same child who apparently forgets a very scary trip to the ER a couple of years ago when he did something very similar. I watched him and his bike sail through the air, and then I watched him come down on the top of his head. A few moments earlier I’d reminded him to get his helmet on (my aunt had recently died from a fluke bike accident where she hit her head), so thankfully he landed on (and smashed and ruined) his helmet. When I saw him land and the way he landed, I was pretty sure he’d broken his neck. Life suddenly went into slow motion just like it does in the movies.
After we got to the ER and all was said and done, he had a severely dislocated elbow (he didn’t even land on his elbow — he just tried to get up on his elbow) that knocked him off his travel baseball team for the summer. We considered ourselves to be VERY blessed…and he recovered faster than the doc had ever seen before and came back pitching harder and faster :o) We got to keep the goofy kid who swore away bikes for a while…but now he’s looked at these pics and thought they looked like a good idea. Boys are definitely a different breed!

Yes, this is what boys do… we have always said that it was a good thing that my Grandmother didn’t know the half of what my Dad and his two brothers did.. they were 1-1 1/2 years apart in age. They must have more angels watching over them than girls do! =)
OMGoodness, heart stopping!! My brother was definitely IN AND OUT of that ER.
My poor mother!
Oh my! Imagine if you were home and looked out the window only to see your son flying through the air?
oh no … Gustav banned motorcycles on our property with the words I’d rather buy them an expensive bike … perhaps I should share this series for him to reconsider his decision LOL … and as for the ER .. yes I had a week when I visited emergency twice in two days .. the second day the doctor on duty (same as the previous day) gave me discount hahaa …. anyway … two days later the third one took his turn .. lol …
heh..heh..heh…
Of course they waited for you to not be home….that is SO familiar! LOL
