I went out on the deep sea with Levi for the first time in September. There is something about laying your head next to the clanging bustle of the port and waking up when it is still dark to head out to the last frontier. The early morning excitement of the many fisherman scrambling for a spot at the bait dock is contagious. And there is nothing like running out to sea in the misty darkness filled with the boat lights and sounds. We sailed right into beautiful morning out there.
50+ miles out to sea.
Somewhere near the Astoria Canyon.
We laid our heads at Salt Hotel.
We pulled in over 30 albacore tuna.
We found ourselves in the middle of a haunting pod of whales.
It was amazing.
