I've been tagged

I have been tagged by the lovely & gifted  Amanda K to tell you “7 Things You May Not Know About Me”.  I usually never get around to doing these, but what the heck, it’s Saturday. I am going to follow my friend Melissa’s lead and post my 7 randomly, 1 at a time.

1. I don’t drive on freeways & I certainly don’t merge. A mental thing I guess.  I hate this about myself and plan to overcome this flaw someday soon.  So start practicing your defensive driving skills if you happen to share the road with me.  I like to think of myself as a independent woman & I don’t like to depend on others to drive me across the river.

The funny thing is when we went to Birmingham, England I was all for renting a car & driving the girls around on the wrong side of the road.  Fortunately the girls declined, thus saving our lives.

I have been known to be tootling along, suddenly finding myself on a freeway, freezing up, putting the car in park and walking away.  Probably not the smartest thing to do.  Martha was able to drive the car to safety while laughing hysterically. I am impressed. This was a long time ago.  I have since just avoided freeways altogether when I am alone.

My fear of merging is completely reasonable. Every time you merge you are trusting your fragile life with unpredictable strangers.  I can’t do that.  Levi says “just close your eyes and follow the traffic”.  Yeah right.  I am the girl that alternately taps the brake & gas in indecision.  When Levi sees a timid driver having trouble merging and snarls in his/her direction I say “shut-up honey, that could be me”.

Same thing with yellow lights.  They should be outlawed.  How is a girl to decide if she is to stop or go?  I usually will speed up to make it through just to lock them up at the last minute.  Then I will casually whistle a tune like it is the most standard thing in the world.

Random photos from our trip to Birmingham, England:

This photo of Anna & I was published in a magazine as “Eden & Jennifer”

We stayed at The Forest hotel in Dorridge.  When we arrived in the UK we asked a lady at the airport where Dorridge was and she had never heard of it.  I was starting to worry that we were in the wrong Country.  Turns out it was only 20 minutes away.

Martha, Anna & JoAnne on the train.

Working late in the night to get eden’s booth ready for the show.

Sitting around like the zombies we were due to the time change.
