Christmas Day

No matter which day of the week Christmas falls upon it is always surrounded by a feeling of enchantment, don’t you think?  This is not just Thursday, it is Christmas!  A day that the truth of our Savior’s birth is remembered.  Imagine being the country shepherds in the field?  Imagine suddenly hearing a multitude of angels praising God saying; Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. What a sight and sound that must have been!

May the magical spirit of Christmas embrace you & bring you peace.

We woke up to a lot of new snow and excited children.  The kids opened gifts ( I was afraid they would explode if we waited any longer!) then we opted to listen to Christmas services online rather than braving the weather.  We will spend the rest of the day relaxing and watching the snow fall.

We had fun demonstrating all the different ways to wear the huivi from Ninni(Thank you again, you spoil us!).  Huivi is Finnish for “scarf” and one of the few Finnish words that we commonly use.  Chef Landon made us pannukkaku (well here is another Finnish word common in our household:) for breakfast.

  3. Okay, I dressed my girls in matching clothes from you for Christmas. EVERYONE loved them – the only disappointment is that now I wish they could just wear those outfits over and over, every single day lol! I took some pictures so I’ll be sure to send them your way once they’re uploaded!

Merry Christmas to you and your blessed family!

  4. I have often thought about what the angels must have sounded like to the shepards. I don’t even think we can imagine such beauty. Your photos are breathtaking…as usual.
