Unborn, Jessie Pearl, is 25 weeks old.
I took a small step back in the pregnancy sickness and was back up to 1/2 Zofran in the morn and 1/2 at night, but now I am back to the 1/2 pill at night. I am already at the weight I was right before I delivered Hazel. And I still have 15 weeks to go. Yikes. If you see me eating a cheeseburger, slap me. In all seriousness, I have been trying for months to control my weight, but my metabolism seems to have deserted me. I have reduced calories as much as I safely can and started exercising every night. That resulted in hunger and more weight gain. Following the midwife’s advice, I am now trying a high protein diet. We will see if that will do the trick. Let me know if you have some helpful advice. Isn’t it frustrating when your body disregards everything you try? I have always gained a lot while pregnant, but quickly lost it once baby was born. Until a couple of years ago. The fun of eating whatever I want is now over. Fiddlesticks.
Despite all that…
I love this stage. I am still comfortable and baby moves so much. She wakes up in the morning with the rest of us, she gets hiccups if she is startled and responds to voices against my belly. I love how the whole family already calls her by name. I love how the little ones kiss my belly and tell her goodnight before they go to bed.
Yesterday in church, Wyatt was resting his head on my belly when he got a swift kick in the face. He jumped up with the cutest wide-eyed look of wonder and amazement. A moment I will cherish.
Oh, Jen I feel your pain with the metabolism thing. We are the same age. I had my fifth child in July (I’ve lost 4, so that would make it my 9th pregnancy). I have always gotten SO skinny from nursing after the baby is born. But, I had two miscarriages in a row with no nursing, and now it is being so much slower to come off. Oh dear, age is catching up!
Jen, you’re beautiful. Least you don’t look like a bloated walrus like I do when pregnant! Hugs. High protein, low on breads and sugar may help. Who knows. And frankly, life is short, your man loves you, your family loves you, so eat ice cream if it makes you smile. =)
You know how to make a girl feel good, Taj. Thanks, sis;)
Love the pic of you and your girls.
You’re beautiful, Jen! Enjoy that baby!
You are beautiful, Jen, inside and out. I am happy to hear you have some relief and are able to begin enjoying your latest adventure. It’s funny, I had a dream we made a day roadtrip to your place last night and your house was gutted, reorganized, repainted — completely and utterly re-nested. Advice for your metabolism, keep some pineapple around and a slice/ring after your high-protein meal. It helps with your metabolism. So does garlic and ginger. Go light on the red meat, instead use ground turkey breast or chicken and fish. If I were there, I’d whip up some good yummies for you and Jessi and the rest of the funky bunch. Take care. I’ve already been looking at baby gifts for this one and have dwindled it down to 3…or 1 to make. We shall see. 😀 XOXO
Yes . . . your belly is growing. Enjoy this part of your life, you’ll miss it when you are not able to have anymore. There is always time to lose the weight . . . eat healthy and be happy :O)
I don’t see anything but baby in those pics…no excess and you look great. Hey maybe Jessi is going to be 12 pounds at birth! That’s why you”re so hungry!
I gained the most with Konner’s pregnancy, now hopefully I can lose it… 🙂 Konner got the hiccups all the time too, in fact when they put the monitor on me before surgery he immediately got them! Was kinda funny… Crazy to think that a week ago at this time I was just about heading in to the OR!!!
Oh, you look beautiful! But so sorry that you’re still feeling sick. In the midst of preggo sickness myself, but still gaining weight as well. Please Lord, if I’m not able to keep anything down, how am I still gaining weight? It doesn’t make sense. Oh well, it’s all for a good cause & there will be plenty of time to lose the weight after baby. Enjoy these last months! 🙂
You look amazingly beautiful!
you look good 🙂 try the diet i did.. uggh it sucked and i was always starving which made me puke.. high protien and low carbs and walk 10 minutes after your 3 main meals.. 7 small meals a day with less than 30 carbs per meal.. which is like eating nothing so your always hungry.. sound fun? haha and you could prick your finger every 2 hours after eating just to make it a little more fun… lol and you always are skinny as ever a few months after baby is born anyways.. so eat what you want since you don’t have to eat like anorexic person 😀
My last baby was born a week after my 40th birthday. He is now 17 months. With my pregnancy with him I had indigestion so bad I threw up constantly and nothing helped untill I finally went onto a prescription drug (don’t remember what) for reflux. I avoided all sugar, bread, rice, pasta and fats..they all made me sick. I didn’t even gain a pound and I gave birth to a 23 inch 9 pound 13 ounce boy at home in 2 hours and my husband caught him as he came too fast for the midwife to arrive as I didn’t realise I was really that far along and felt fine…something to look forward to at the end of a hard pregnancy, in my case all that relaxin that made pregnancy so unbearable made for a very easy birth….you look great. God gave you what you were meant to have so your baby is what it is supposed to be…praying for an easier time for you.
Jen, you look amazing. I showed him these pics of you, and he has no idea who you are, and I asked him how old he thought you were. You know what he said? “Twenty two?” when i told him you were pregnant with your tenth, he said “What? She looks great!”
See? You look awesome.
You my dear.. look absolutely gorgeous.. sorry you had a little set back… but soon she will be here..
Sometimes baby wants what baby wants. Just eat what your body tells you it needs. You are gorgeous, and have nothing to worry about.
Have you tried those ginger pops for morning sickness? It sounds like yours is a bit more advanced than that, but it may help take the edge off.
I feel for you, I was sick all through my pregnancy, so I’m with you in spirit. : ) It’s all worth it though, isn’t it?
You look terrific, Jen. It’s hard to gain more then you expected (with this pregnancy, I’m already about at the weight-gain I was when I delivered Noah so I understand the anxious feelings) but try to not to sweat it. I like how Taj put it. Life is short and pregnancy is done in just a few weeks so don’t let it get to you too much. Really…you are truly beautiful outside and in.
