We had the pleasure of welcoming new friends to Windy Ridge the other weekend. Andris, Christy and their 3 little darlings. Like most of our gatherings it was a spur-of-the-moment event. Christy offered to make us her jambalaya and I couldn’t pass that up. We gathered in the kitchen, chopping, simmering, sauteing and visiting while the kids filled up on bottled sugar from Mexico and screeched like hyenas. I got schooled on certain things concerning prawns(and a few other things).
It was very cool to have a Hawaiian chef in the house. Basmati rice? Never heard of it before that Sunday, but I love it.
Christy, doing most of the work(and looking good doing it!) and Everett, plinking out a tune on the piano.
The girls made some new best friends. Wyatt wearing his “girl crazy” expression.
Andris had a sick foot, making it impossible for him to walk so Levi loaded him up on the dolly, stool and all to transport him here and there. Gave us a good laugh.

I think Wyatt is making the “crazy girl what are you wearing” expression. I know that’s what I was thinking when my daughter walked in dressed like Carrot Top.
And we Lannons, sick feet and all, always have a practical joke or three up our sleeve. I’m glad we were able to share the Joy of Basmati as well as The Anatomy of the Prawn (Everything you ever wanted to know about the Dendrobranchiata poop shoot but were afraid to ask.) We’ve been accused of being masses of useless information. Like that whole static electricity transfer thing. I guess it wasn’t true after all. :::shrugs…ducks…and runs:::
