This is what we have been up to. Painting the ______ room. The plan calls it a club room, which just sounds goofy to me. It is a big room with a fireplace, kid’s toys & the telly. I would like to call it a parlor. Sounds so old fashioned. Like we would all gather there after dinner and sing around the piano, drink tea and nibble dainty scones. So lovely (if not a bit unreal). Levi & the boys scoff at this.
I say in my most dramatic voice: “children, go play in the parlor”.
They all ignore me. It’s like I didn’t say anything at all.
Club room: sounds like you go in there to party, very mancave-ish
Entertainment room: Boring
Den: a place where lions live, dark and dingy
Family room: hmmmm
Living room: already have one of those
Play room: hmmmm
So, what would you call it?
