20 weeks is the magic number. I suddenly feel better. I am down to one Zofran in the evening. I can chew gum and drink soda. I hate carrots. Life is good.
And then I went and got my feelings hurt.
When I am not pregnant I am very easy-going and have been called a pushover more than a few times.
When I am pregnant I valiantly try to defend myself against false accusations. When a customer carelessly accused me of charging her more than an item was selling for (basically theft) I wasted half of this beautiful day telling her I would never consider such a thing, have NEVER considered such a thing and that I was DEEPLY offended that she would suggest such a thing and I would certainly be sending all of the documents to prove my innocence.
And though I emailed the necessary proof my passionate speech fell on deaf ears. I know in my heart that this woman knows now that she is wrong and pride prevents her from admitting it. She did do something good today…
She made me really appreciate the 99.999% of you that are so wonderful and understanding.
You are just darling! When I was preggy with my 1st cheeseburgers was my thing! And I gained 50 lbs!!! I didn’t even look like me! You look amazing!!!
And yet, somehow, through it all, you continue to look all glowy and fabulous. I am not in the least bit surprised that you handled the situation with such grace and I hope that you can now let it go and know that you have done everything you can to rectify the situation. You can’t please everyone all the time, you can only be true to yourself and do your best.

I’m certain I would be offended if someone accused me of theft whether I was pregnant or not! You can’t cure normal, and you can’t please all the people all the time. As long as you can look at yourself in the mirror every day knowing you are good at heart, and then rest your head soundly at night, anyone bringing into question your fundamental honor is bound to be unsettling. Clearly this isn’t a long-time customer or follower to your blog or she would know better. I don’t know you personally. I first bought from you during your eBay days, but I visit your blog daily for updates, and feel that I’d sooner think Jesus doesn’t love me than I’d think you would try to steal from me, as a customer. I’ll admit, my feathers are ruffled having read this entry of yours. And for some odd reason, I have a hankering for a cheeseburger. You look marvelous!

Pregnancy is amazing, and you are amazing for doing it so many times…AND for being an incredible designer and business person all at once…do you have any idea how happy your clothing makes us?!
You look wonderful, can’t wait to find out what the little bean is. Yes..I agree 99.99% of folks are honest, dependable, trustworthy & good to work with, BUT… it only takes one to push me over the edge, and to accuse you of theft, now thats just crazy.

Oh sweetheart, I’m soo sorry that you had to go through that! I don’t know what it is that makes people think that they can be like that. She needs to apologize! You are too sweet to have to deal with crap like that. I hope that she feels ashamed of herself.

I totally know how a bad experience like this (false accusations) can bring you down. That’s the first sign that your a good person…. if you weren’t, you wouldn’t be bothered by it. I’ve been in your shoes, and it’s definately enough to ruin a good day. I’m glad you added this to your post…. hopefully hearing from you happy customers will help brighten your spirits.
I love reading your blog and have long admired your clothing. You are very inspiring, talented and a genuinely nice person. Unfortunately, there is always “one” in the bunch that is not so nice. Don’t waste anymore time on someone not worthy of it. You have more exciting and fulfilling things to do. You have a beautiful family and home. Congratulations on all of your success 🙂
